Land Acknowledgement

The Warehouse One Service Office and E-Commerce store is located on Treaty 1 territory, home of the Cree, Dakota, Dene, Ojibway/Chippewa, and Metis Nations.

Over 120 Warehouse One stores are located coast to coast on ancestral First Nations, Inuit, and Metis land. We encourage you to use the Whose Land tool to learn about the Indigenous communities in which your local Warehouse One exists – https://www.whose.land/

As an organization, Warehouse One and all employees would like to acknowledge the Indigenous communities that we live and work in. A land acknowledgement is only a small part in supporting Indigenous communities. We hope this statement inspires others to learn, reflect, and take action.

Have questions? Here are some resources that have been created in partnership with the Indigenous communities around us.

Warehouse One X Pride

WH1 X PRIDE 2023

We want everyone to feel welcomed at Warehouse One and we strive to create a space that is inclusive of all people. We are proud to be supporters of the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities and welcome all gender representations to visit and work in our store locations.

The Warehouse One teams recognize Pride Month yearly by offering employee education and training on a specific topic related to 2SLGBTQIA+ issues. This year for Pride Month, Warehouse One Store and Home Office teams are focusing on expanding our knowledge around Gender & Sexuality Diversity. The goal of this training is to help our team members communicate accurately and respectfully both with one another and our community members beyond the month of June.

As a company, we are continually learning and shifting the way we focus on Pride. Our initiatives evolve year by year in response to 2SLGBTQIA+ community needs. For us, inclusivity does not end with Pride Month. All Warehouse One store locations will proudly display an inclusivity decal year round to indicate to our community and shoppers that all people are welcome to shop with us. Another important aspect of supporting our 2SLGBTQIA+ community is amplifying the voice of individuals from the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. We’re excited to share the Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity’s profiles for twelve remarkable trailblazers. This list aims to “celebrate the lives and work of these individuals” who are part of Canada’s 2SLGBTQIA+ history.

GIVING BACK

WH1 X MAKE A WISH WH1 X MAKE A WISH

Warehouse One’s relationship and support of Make-A-Wish dates back many years but has grown tremendously in the past 5 years. For a business focused on making people look and feel good, nothing makes us feel better than when we celebrate the granting of another heartfelt wish for a child with a critical illness.

Currently 30% of Parian Logistics associates identify with a disability, and that number is growing! We are happy to share their success story in hopes of inspiring other organizations to join them in supporting an inclusive workplace for people of all abilities.
