Warehouse One & Make-A-Wish: Together, We Create Life-Changing Wishes Are Children With Critical Illness

Warehouse One's relationship in support of Make-A-Wish dates back many years - but has grown tremendously over the past 10 years. Nothing makes us feel better than when we celebrate the granting of another heartfelt wish for a child with a critical illness or disability.

Our partnership with Make-A-Wish has become far more than just a partnership. It is more of a bond between like-minded organizations doing what we can to support children with critical illnesses or disabilities in our communities.

Thank you for supporting our partnership with Make-A-Wish Canada for the 28th year.

A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes

2023 Granted Wishes

Make-A-Wish Arisha

AGE 16

Arisha is a smart 16-year-old who loves playing Minecraft, hanging out with her family, and playing all kinds of board games. She was also diagnosed with leukemia. After intense treatment, she is now in remission! The best day of Arisha’s life so far was when she got her cat, Cloudy. Arisha has always been fascinated by technological advances and loves Japanese cuisine. It came as no surprise that her most heartfelt wish is to go to Japan! When she thinks about her wish, she imagines travelling to a new country and enjoying the new experiences that come along with it.

Make-A-Wish Weston

AGE 7

Meet Weston, the adventurous 7-year-old with a heart full of laughter. Despite his battle with leukemia, Weston’s spirit shines as bright as the sun. Weston finds joy in the little things like playing with his friends, diving into the world of books or watching his favourite TV shows. Weston’s hobbies are as diverse as his skills. Weston wishes to visit a theme park in Florida! He daydreams about meeting his favourite characters, going on all the thrilling rides, and making life-long memories with his family.

Make-A-Wish Ezreck

Age 9

Ezreck is a happy child who loves spending time with his family, friends, and his dogs. He enjoys listening to music, playing board games, or watching movies with his family, and snacking on chips and sour candy. If he could have any superpower, he would want to grant people their wishes. He is 9 years old and was diagnosed with cancer. Ezreck’s wish, to go to a theme park in Florida, will soon come true. He can’t wait to visit the waterparks, enjoy all of the rides his little heart desires, and to meet some of his favourite characters! He believes that the most important part of his wish will be spending time with his family.

GRANTING A WISH

Each Wish Kid can use these funds for their most significant, heartfelt wish. Some of these wishes include a family trip to Disney, an RV to allow families to comfortably enjoy a camping experience or an above-ground pool to an outdoor oasis. At Warehouse One, a donation can be added to every in-store or online purchase made all year round, with the extra proceeds going directly to Make-a-Wish.

2023 RECAP

In 2023, Warehouse One and our customers raised over $143,709 to date in support of Make-A-Wish and helped grant wishes nationwide. These wishes represent an integral part of a child's treatment journey, and we are thankful for the opportunity to provide some joy to these children. Make a Wish is an essential part of what makes Warehouse One unique! Warehouse One goes above and beyond for our Wish Kids. We fundraise for our kiddos all year long and are always trying to meet and exceed our goals. We have kids who are between the ages of 5 and 15 years old, with varying degrees of disability or critical illnesses, and we make their wishes come true.

DONATE

Warehouse One is invested in our kids' futures. We go all-out with in-store campaigns yearly, like Giving Tuesdays (matched by our ownership group). Partnering with local indigenous artisans to design in-store messaging for our June campaigns in honour of National Indigenous Month, September back to school, and the holiday season, where donation proceeds come from gift boxes and contributions from our service office and our valued customers.

Our store associates are fully knowledgeable and know the goals to reach for our wish kids. And if you have questions about the campaigns or donations, our associates can help.

Parents who have a child with a critical illness or disability, for that matter, know what it's like. We'd do anything to improve our child's life in the long or short run. It's hard, and we understand, but a Make-A-Wish trip helps the whole family. To spend time together to reconnect and to make those cherished memories. It's truly inspiring to see their little faces light up!
