Who really likes January in the Canadian prairies? Well, I mean some people enjoy it and on occasion (those occasions where it is NOT -40) it is ok. I take any chance I can get to fly somewhere that has sand, sun and maybe a tasty beverage or two.
I was lucky enough to travel to Maui this winter and had the Warehouse One buying team lend me some of our brand-new GBC clothing. Now, when I pack for a warm destination comfort is key. Hands down my favorite shirt from our new collection had to be GBC Multicolour Stripe Shirt. This shirt is very breathable and light it is like you almost aren’t wearing a shirt at all. You can keep it dressy and wear it with some jeans OR leave it unbuttoned and live your best beach life.
Next on the packing list…. Tank tops. Since we practically lived on the beach for the week a good assortment of tanks is a must. I brought along the GBC Collegiate Muscle Tank and the GBC Retro Print Muscle Tank. I pretty much refused to wear a t-shirt unless necessary, so these tanks got a lot of use.
Now you cannot just run around with no bottoms on…. Well, I mean you can, but your vacation might be cut short on account of spending some time in the local jail for indecent exposure. While I DID NOT want this to happen, I brought along GBC Grey Nylon Swim Shorts and the GBC Lime Nylon Swim Shorts. Let me tell you these shorts are incredible. First thing I noticed was they dry very quickly. So, after a dip in the ocean while you are sitting on your towel or chair it seemed like no time had passed and they were ready for another dunk into the water. No one likes sitting in wet clothes, so this was just perfect. Second, they have zippers on the pockets. So, you can have your room key or some change in there and you don’t have to worry about it.
Lastly, while it’s warm during the day, evenings tend to get chilly or more to the point. I have a partner that lets say doesn’t run as warm as I do. So, she ended up wearing the GBC Tie Dye Neck Crew Sweatshirt more than I did. It was a perfect sweater for lounging on the beach as the sun went down or just sitting around are rented VW van talking about the day and what we had planned for the next day.
