Hi, my name is Lauren and I am the Marketing Manager for Warehouse One. The Marketing Manager for Warehouse One does a bit of everything. I work a lot in the digital marketing aspect as well as in more traditional media marketing. I oversee the digital marketing that brings customers to our website, as well as the signage and brand such as photography and brand photoshoots that appear both online and in all of our stores.
My favourite part of my job has to be the people I work with. I have such a great team within the marketing department, within the merchandising team, and the senior leadership team with Warehouse One. I am very very lucky to work with all of them!
The moment I knew I wanted to work in fashion was when I was growing up my mom worked for another Canadian retailer. She would fly across Canada and visit all of the stores and that sounded really exciting. I got my first part-time job in a clothing retailer, and with them, I was doing a visual store flip; doing the windows and putting up new signage. And while I was doing this I thought it would be so cool to decide what photos go on these posters. And it would be even cooler to decide what photos are being taken and what the brand feels like and what the product feels like, and being able to create this feeling for their customers. I decided then that was what I wanted to do for a living.
I ended up going to university (twice!) for fashion school and for marketing. When I graduated from those programs five years ago, I got this job!
When I’m not at work I love hanging out with my dog and going for walks – we go for so many walks.
My favourite style from Warehouse One is our Limitless jean. I love it. It’s a stretchy fit denim that changes with your body. We all know that women’s bodies can change quite a bit. These jeans stretch up to 3-4 sizes, so you don’t have to worry about finding different jeans as your body fluctuates.
The most rewarding part of my job is seeing team members that I’ve hired move on to bigger and better roles. Whether that be someone I hired as a temp comes on as a full time or we get to promote someone and they get someone coming in underneath them and become a mentor themselves. I think that’s really rewarding.
